This contest is open to everyone, worldwide even if you are already a member. Here are the contest rules: If you are not already a fan, Like us on our Facebook Page.

1. Tell us, during your first visit to the gardens, what was your favorite flower, plant or garden area. If you have never been to our garden, tell us what flower, plant or garden you would be excited to see.

You can write a blurb, an essay, a poem or anything you like. Be as creative as possible. You may include photos or even a video. All you need to do is post your entry on our Facebook wall and if you have a photo or video you would like to include, use the little icons on the wall to post them along with your entry.

We realize you may not have enough room on these wall posts for your entry. So, if you have a blog you may post your entry on your blog and copy and paste that blog post link to our wall.

The contest begins today - 8/19/10 and will end on 9/12/10. The winner will be announced on 9/13/10.

The entries will be judged on quality and creativity. Give us your best and good luck to all. If you are not already a fan on our Facebook page, click on the link below and "like us" to enter the contest.

Ann and Betchai: A membership would get you benefits to nurseries and other gardens around the United States so even if you do not live here you benefit by a membership. Check out the links to the pages and you can see what you'd win.

This is a great chance to be involved. We are members of our local garden, and we have truly enjoyed the reciprocal benefits at gardens and exhibits in several states that our membership provides.

Make sure to click the images to enlarge. These photos should be viewed up close and personal. I absolutely loved the Hollywood and Highland center. It is located along Hollywood Boulevard and is the center of attention. Although it houses restaurants and retail shops, I see it as much more than your average mall. It is an open air complex which I really like. The retail shops and restaurants surround the main complex from the plaza area up to the second and third floors which you can visit by taking either the stairs or escalator on the far sides of the center. The plaza area is complete with some small retail kiosks and a small fountain to cool you during those Summer months. What really fascinated me about this center is all of the intricate artwork as you can see detailed in these photos. The artwork and sculptures are amazing.
