The weather in San Francisco this past week has been gorgeous.  I ventured out to the lands end hiking trail to soak in the beauty and to take these scenic shots for my friends Sony and Jerry Holland . I am participating in Our World Tuesday And Outdoor Wednesday

I am writing for Camera Critters today because Poetic Shutterbug was too lazy.  She is working hard at her job and needs some beauty rest.  Lord knows, alot of beauty rest. I have been a busy guy these days.  I went to my first concert at Cafe Divine in North Beach this past weekend to see my friends Sony and Jerry Holland perform .  My favorite song that they sing is On A San Francisco High .  I like it because I live here in San Francisco and it's a very cool song about my hometown.  I think I am becoming a party animal and it's fun :) I also like watching the San Francisco Giants play baseball.  I would love to run around that field and chase everyone.  Sergio Romo is my favorite player because he's a cool dude like me and always has his picture taken, like me.  Poetic Shutterbug says she likes th...

I was strolling around the Botanical Gardens a couple of weeks ago and wanted to get this gorgeous shot of trees reflecting in the moon garden pond.  I was in a spot where I could not get near the pond so I zoomed in and snapped away.  While this shot is not what I had expected, I for some reason still liked the way it turned out.  It sort of reminds me of a Monet :D  This shot is straight out of the camera and was not tweaked at all. My two ?'s have to do with art and photography. 1.  Who is your favorite artist? 2.  Do you tweak your photos? Today would have been my Mom's 86th birthday. The photo above was taken probably about 17 or 18 years ago. My niece Alissa, who is 21 years old now is celebrating her birthday in the photo so it's been at least 17 years. My Mom loved to sing. One of her favorite all time songs was Embraceable You. She would go around the house singing it all the time. So, in honor of her birthday, I give you Sony Holland singing that song with the Big Band last year. I only wish Mom would have lived long enough to meet Sony and hear and see her perform the song. Between it being Mom's birthday and Sony singing her favorite song, this is a very special post. www.sonyholland.com What a fantastic concert. You always here the phrase "you just can't improve upon perfection," however Sony Holland just gets better and better each time I hear her sing. She totally blew me away the other night at Culver's jazz club. She didn't just sing, she performed. Her band, The Theo Saunders Quartet who just happens to consist of some of the best players in the Los Angeles area was off the cuff. Not to mention Jerry Holland who is the best guitarist EVER. Below is a short snippet of the band performing "You Never Can Tell." Now remember I am not a videographer and I have a cheap camera so don't expect HD quality here :) The club itself is nestled within the lobby and bar area of the Radisson hotel. It was founded in 1991 by Merle Kreibich who is just a sweetheart. She not only introduced Sony and the band but informed us about the upcoming shows and thanked the entire audience for coming out to the club. It was...
