The Artist - Guest Post by Cheryl Oertli

Image
The photo above taken by me at the Botanical Gardens. The poem below was written as a tribute to me by a dear friend and fan of my work. Thank you so much, Chey . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Artist Images of God's creation captured forever, Frozen in time by the photographer's hand; Nothing specific, whatever tickles her fancy, Spontaneous creations, crafted not planned. Commonplace objects like auto headlights, With talent and creativity now seen as new, A tilt of the lens, a magnification; They all come alive because of this poets view. Images taken at The Botanical Gardens, Photographs of buildings and people far away; Exotic images, tourist treasures captured, Her own personal reflection of a grand holiday. She speaks to others in words and photos, An artist with a unique point of view; Freely sharing her gifts with other, The gift of an artist, honest and true. Cheryl Oertli (c) 2010

The Teacher

I want to thank Chey (Cheryl Oertli ) for this guest post and her wonderful poem The Teacher. The Teacher He's a teacher, a master of wisdom, Bestowing knowledge to those in his charge; Molding young minds, a planter of seeds, With a career, larger than large. With each seed of knowledge he has planted, It's a blessing to watch each student grow; Proud to shape the future of young minds, From the land of the lost to the land of the know. He's a teacher, caring and compassionate, The kind of teacher you long for in September; One who enjoys the challenge of his job, A stellar teacher, the kind students remember. He has come a long way from the days of his youth, Accepting the challenges, achieving his goal; He's a teacher, a guardian of wisdom, From the catacombs of his mind to the depths of his soul.

Crystal Visions

This is a guest post by Cheryl Oertli . I want to thank her for her friendship and beautiful poetry. Crystal Visions Words come in crystal visions, Images painted as if canvas creations, Prisms of an inner mind, Multicolored majesty. Rhythmic repetitions, melodic and grand. Each thought, each image developed, Lovingly cared for, painstakingly planned. Words bring forth emotions, A collage of emotions recorded In quatrains and lyrical verse; Touching the heart and mind, As a soothing balm for the soul.

Carla Cried by Cheryl Oertli

I'd like to thank my dear friend Chey for her beautiful poetry. This is a guest post by Cheylinn. You can find more about Chey on her Facebook page and her Myspace page. Carla Cried Inside she felt her world begin to crumble, Yet she put on her public face, stoic and strong; She needed to honor her mother's memory, To behave otherwise for her was wrong. Mourners sat respectfully, each in their seats, The memorial service was beautifully done; As the pastor read her mother's verse, One felt the loss of this precious one. Her mother would have been so proud, As she smiled down from heaven above; And to the many who were left behind, She'd left forever her legacy of love. One by one the mourners went to their cars, To begin the procession to the graveside; Where there was said their last good bye, Only then, could her tears no longer be denied.
