My Mom loved flowers with daisies being one of her many favorites. She always said "Don't bring me flowers when I'm gone and can't enjoy them, give them to me while I'm alive."

Each time I visited Mom, I'd bring her daisies.

All of these photos are old and I don't have a scanner so I basically took photos of the photos. In the above photo, my Theo (Uncle) Chris, my Thea (Aunt) Stella and the little one in front, my Mom Dorothy. There was no date on this photo but I'm guessing the late 1920's.
My Mom and Dad on their 40th wedding anniversary. 1989
My Mom and niece Alissa on Easter in 1994 right before Mom passed away.
RIP Mom 3/29/1924 - 7/9/1994 I Love You

Thank you, Michelle.
Beautiful flowers for mom, Jo, and you look like her too.
I hope today is not so hard for you. It seems like every "date" I spend without my Daddy is hard. I think it's not ever going to get any easier really. I love the photos - they say so much, and I too love daisies more than any flower on earth!
Beautiful daisies for mom, and you're so sweet to bring her flowers.
What a beautiful smile she had. THat's a nice tribute to a wonderful woman.
Memory is always sweet.
beautiful flowers Jo, my late mom loved flowers too, and when I get the chance to visit, I bring flowers as well.
A beautiful tribute to your Mom Jo and the daisies are lovely. Thanks for sharing :)
Your mom had the right idea, how can you enjoy the flowers when your gone, bring while they are alive :) She was also a very pretty lady with a beautiful smile. Nice tribute to your mom
Thanks to all of you. It's been a tough day but you've made me smile with your comments :)
This is a beautiful tribute to your mom. Wise words from a wise woman. I can see the a part of her in you - the beauty and the brains!
Autumn, you are too sweet :) Thank you.
Now I see where your love of flowers came from. Wonderful tribute to your mom. Thanks for sharing your family photos.
Awwwww... what a lovely gesture. I miss my mom too.
The sweetest of tributes. Your pictures of pictures turned out great.
A very nice tribute to your mom. Moms are the best.
I appreciate your posts and my mom said the same thing about flowers and visits. She wanted the flowers and my visits before she left this world.
She told me she didn't want me going to her grave to mourn her and if I did she'd be mad at me. I honor her wishes and my visits to Fort Sam Houston (a couple of hours away) are far apart in time. Her love is my constant companion and visiting the grave just causes me pain.
She was wise and knew me well. I celebrate and honor her love everyday by striving to be the person she believed I was.
A beautiful tribute, Jo.
Thanks for sharing. :)
Oh, my goodness, Jo, I missed this lovely post about your mom and I am so sorry. I didn't realize the 9th was the anniversary of her death. She looked so pretty the Easter before she died!
