Watery Wednesday - Waterfall in Golden Gate Park

Adjacent to Stow Lake and the Chinese Pavilion in Golden Gate Park is a waterfall which attracts many visitors. It resides amongst the trees and foliage on the side of a hill surrounded by rocks and stones which you can see in these photos. I've seen it many times but what struck me the other day was the white foam which in person looks like white lava. It had a very surreal look so I had to get some shots of the water. I wanted to take some video but my batteries were dying. I had already taken over three hundred photos that day. I know, I'm a snap happy shutterbug :)

wow it does look like white lava. Very cool. I'm always amazed when I go to download pictures, how many I've managed to take. Being snap happy is fun :)

Hmmm. Looks like the remains of soap suds. We've had people dump detergent in water features here and after the clean up there is still something left to work itself out. I hope this isn't the case.

Very cool shots. There are interesting patterns made in the foam.

I usually bring spare batteries every time there's a photo op. :)

Jo, Some of the shots make the foam look like lace doilies laying on top of the water. I'm with Shey, very cool shoots.

I agree about the soap...Although I am sometimes tempted to dump some into the fountain at the mall where I work...
I know what you mean about batteries, though!

look refreshing especially when the temperature is in the high 90s.

The white foam looks like they just got through washing something. I haven't been to this part of the park, would love to one day.
