Thursday Two Questions Meme - Hometown Favorites

For those of you who know me and follow this blog you know I love the botanical gardens. However, even before I discovered the gardens decades ago, my favorite spot in my hometown was Fisherman's Wharf.

The wharf is touted as a tourist destination though many of us locals frequent this vibrant and alive area. From the wharf area you can not only see the Golden Gate, Alcatraz Island, Coit Tower and the high rises in downtown SF but you have a bustling neighborhood full of world renowned restaurants, unique shops and a host of artists and musicians that fill the streets with a party atmosphere.

One of my favorite times to visit is during the morning hours when the streets are still quiet and the smell of the ocean permeates the air. You can feel the morning mist bathe your skin while seeing the Golden Gate hiding behind a veil of fog. It's then that I so appreciate living in San Francisco.

My two questions this week are:

1. Where do you live?

2. What is your favorite spot in your hometown?

Betchai :), you're right, they're not new. I was in the gardens the other day and came across a Torrey Pine (gorgeous tree) and guess what? I thought of you. I snapped a photo of it but with the lighting it did not come out very well or I would have sent it to you.
1) San Jose, Silicon Valley, we are neighbors.
2) Where I can eat a lot of crab, and oysters. Pig, I know, but those are my loves. Got to be true to yourself...lol

1) San Jose, and would love to hook-up with you one day.
2) My backyard. I spent a lot of time in it and caring for it, therefore I feel so loved when I am in it.
But outside of my home? My favorite restaurants. And when we are not talking about food? My favorite hiking trail is the Guadalupe Mines.

Walla Walla, WA, we've only lived here ten years so I'm not sure if it qualifies as our hometown.

My favorite spot is Pioneer Park, it's the one with the aviary. As for an eatery, my favorite is The Mill Creek Brew Pub. They have fabulous burgers and beer.

Amanda, yes we definitely have to hook up one of these days. In fact me and Carmen were talking about it the other day. We thought of taking a ride to San Jose and have lunch there. I have to agree with you on the crabs but I'm not an oyster fan :)

Squirrel, Oh, I love aviaries. and as far as burgers and beer, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Hmmmm...I remember that early morning ocean. I lived on a boat until I was 10 (down the coast from you in Southern Cal).

After leaving the boat we moved to the mountains, which I just had a chance to visit for the second time with my kids. My favorite spot was the forest that was across the street from our house. I would spend hours exploring...and learned that if I sat very still all sorts of wildlife would appear.

Now I live in Waco, TX...and my favorite spot would have to be our Church, which is located on a hill overlooking a River. The place radiates peace.

Oh no...I added the URL...I am sorry. Please don't report me to blogger. Sorry, my brain is muddled on not enough sleep. Really wasn't intending to spam. UG. I usually notice your warning...and today it just slipped past me until two seconds after I posted that.
