Camera Critters - Birds

I love Spring with all the beautiful blooms and vibrant colors. Our feathered friends are out and about harmonizing and gracing us with nature's symphonic tunes. I am forever chasing birds and was so lucky to find this little one at Stern Grove.

This shot was taken at the SF Botanical Gardens. What a treat.

Decorative Asian Fan Styled Collector's Plate

This elegantly designed fan collectors plate depicts intricately styled flowers in stunning detail and color.  They are gold with hints of red and white alongside beautiful gold butterflies.  The plate itself is a green color with gold borders.  Please view the photos.  Also I wanted to mention that the handle on the fan is a gold color despite the photo which displays it as looking red which is the color I was wearing and reflected in the light.

At it's widest point, the plate measures 9 1/2" by approximately 6 1/2".   It is a simple yet beautifully styled piece and is in good condition.  It shows minor scuff wear on the bottom of the plate.  I urge you to view the photos.

The bottom of the plate reads TOYO Jade Kiku Japan and has Asian writing.

Decadence

One of my many guilty pleasures...

Thursday Two Questions Meme - Do You Tweak?

I was strolling around the Botanical Gardens a couple of weeks ago and wanted to get this gorgeous shot of trees reflecting in the moon garden pond.  I was in a spot where I could not get near the pond so I zoomed in and snapped away.  While this shot is not what I had expected, I for some reason still liked the way it turned out.  It sort of reminds me of a Monet :D  This shot is straight out of the camera and was not tweaked at all.

My two ?'s have to do with art and photography.

1.  Who is your favorite artist?

2.  Do you tweak your photos?

I also would like to congratulate Icy, BC for winning my contest giveaway.  She chose a gorgeous plate by artist Sandra Kuck which is on the way to her along with two Sony Holland CD's and $20.

Thanks Icy :)
