Blooming in Winter by Joanne Olivieri

Blooming In Winter

Sleep eludes me

as the darkness lingers

invading my thoughts

like black ice.

The silence disturbs

as the night stops

allowing the darkness

like a shroud

I yearn for morning

when sunrise awakens

and my thoughts are refreshed

like a white magnolia
