Macro Flowers Saturday - Oriental Trumpet Lily

The Oriental Trumpet Lily is my absolute favorite flower. I've been anxiously awaiting it's rebirth. When strolling in the gardens this past week I was ecstatic to find that there were at least a dozen plants with buds and only one flower, the above in full bloom. I cannot wait to get back there and see the entire collection in all it's glory. Enjoy!

Your Macro Lily shots are very inspirational and beautiful. Back in the spring I did a shoot at lily garden and now, I'm quite inspired to get them ready for MFS. Enjoyed my first visit to your blog and will be back.

Hi Jo, other people take pictures, but looking at your well taken pics....you create pictures, and each picture tells something too.
Love your well taken shots, very creative.
You must have done some kneeling and bending too, to get these beautiful shots.

It is never the camera but the person behind it...what he or she wants to portray, and lady, you have done it in these pics. Outstanding!
You have a pleasant weekend and keep a song in your heart, best regards, Lee.
I love lilies too. That is such a beautiful colour of bloom and it will be an incredible sight when they all have opened.

Just beautiful! Do they smell good too? I have to admit, my faves are just the plain old orange day lilies, but I appreciate the smelly ones too :)

It is a beautiful flower, Jo, and each shot is superb. I like the macros but the finale, the shot of the total flower is spectacular. Does it have a scent. I can't imagine the scene when all of them are blooming.
