Jo's Collectibles Mercantile and JD's Gift Shack Promotions Advertising and Contest Giveaway

Hello everyone. I wanted to let you all know that my new store over on Bonanza.com is going very well and much of it has to do with Dena from JD's Gift Shack. Now I know I've spoken out before on paid advertising saying that I don't use it and I never have. However, Dena is not only a seller but promoter over at Bonanza. When I browsed her store I found that she also helped sellers in promoting not only their booths at Bonanza but their websites, blogs etc... Her prices are fantastic so I thought well, why not, I'll try it.

What happened? my views skyrocketed and at least doubled and sometimes tripled over the views I used to have on my eBay store. This girl knows her stuff and does it well. She is also one of the nicest and friendliest people around.

So, what does all of this have to do with you? I am offering a contest giveaway for her services. This is how it will work. For everyone that joins my store Facebook page from now through December 1st, will be entered into a drawing to receive a promotional package from Dena at JD's Gift Shack. The promotional package includes 4 of your items or urls promoted each day for 30 days. This can be blogs, websites, posts you do for Triond etc... anything with a url that you want promoted she can do. This is a $15.00 value. Not to mention, when you like my Jo's Collectibles Mercantile Facebook page you can promote anything you want on that page.

So, here's the deal. Like my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jos-Collectibles-Mercantile/262923113751139 and you will automatically be entered in the contest. If you are already a fan that's great, you are entered. If you are a fan and have more pages that you would like entered, that's fine as well. Just hit the like button. Please share this post with friends.

On December 1st, I will choose a winner from picking names out of a bowl. I don't have a hat :) The winner will be contacted on Thursday December 1st.

Thank you.

Thursday Two Questions Meme - Watermarks

I have begun to sell my photos in my new collectibles store as desktop wallpaper in order to test the waters, so to speak and see if people like my photography. If they do then I will create some other way to present them and sell them.

When I put the photos up in my store, I put my store initials and date on them as a watermark. I had a discussion with another community member in the forums that mentioned anyone can erase the watermark without hurting the photo in any way. He then took one of the photos I had displayed to show me it can be done. He was right. He erased the watermark without hurting the photo.

Of course when I really thought about it I realized that when someone buys the photo, they will get the raw file emailed to them and basically with that can do anything they like with it. Not to mention, when I post them here on my blog I don't even include a watermark.

I think I'm just beginning to realize when you put something out there on the internet it's basically for sharing.

My two questions this week are:

1. Do you watermark your photos?

2. Does it bother you when someone uses your photos or work without permission?
