Weekend Reflections Alvord Lake in Golden Gate Park

Alvord Lake in Golden Gate Park

Alvord Lake was created in 1882 using money from William Alvord who was the park commission president during that time.  Alvord wanted to name it The Lakelet but others wanted it named after him.

The lake is surrounded by dense foliage as you can see in the photos with an undulating shoreline that attracts much waterfowl although I did not see any while taking these photos.

This lake is small yet rich in beauty.  It is located at the entrance to Haight Street at Stanyan in San Francisco.

The presentation of this lake is very interesting, and the picture are amazing. I like the composition of the third one, very unusual, but the first one with this little keepsake of the Fall is my favourite.
