Fascinating. My father was a sailor on Liberty and Victory ships during the war. He'd have been delighted to know that at least one was still around.

How amazing that this ship made the trip back to Normandy for the 50th anniversary of D day. Shawn visited Normandy during his four month stay in Germany. He said is so moving to actually be there and see all the American graves.

My step son works for the Navy and he works on ships like this. When we were in Virginia visiting him we took a tour of a ship yard. It's amazing how huge they are.
Fascinating looking ship, full of history, and your shots are fantastic, Jo!

I so wish I could drop everything today and drive over to enjoy this. What a reminder of the dependence cruises I would go on with my dad after her returned back from overseas. These cruises are highlights of my childhood. The smell of a ship is like perfune to me.

I've heard so much about this ship, but never got a close up look at it until now. By the way, I like your blog's new layout.
