Back when I was still trucking, I got to deliver two loads of foodstuffs to The Presidio, and I was told that Alcatraz could be seen on a clear day from the warehouse I was being unloaded at down by the waterfront. Neither days were clear, however, and there was no time to take a sightseeing tour--much to my disappointment.
