The Poet's Evening Solitude

The Poet's Evening Solitude
a tribute to Longfellow's "The Day Is Done"

Alabastrine eventide
Blanched in empirical thoughts
Provided by frozen memories
Thawed into liquid ideas, soluble.
They cascade freely and imbue
Creative brain waves along
Pale parchments of the
Virgin nerve endings
Of discovery.
A silent affair
With
Quiet thoughts
Untamed.

An excellent description of a good evening. The great thing about a poem is that it describes so much in fewer words than anything else ever can.
