Curious to know WHAT it is though... It 'looks' like a form of Banksia, in some ways but not really... And yet, it also looks similar to a Pinus spp!! So confused...

Bernie, you are right it is a Banksia Speciosa in bloom from the Australian area of the garden. I've never seen one look like that so I had to post it. I'm hopping over to your blog now. Thanks.
