Bye Bye Oly

Well, I never thought I'd be saying this after four months and after I finally finished paying it off, by my new camera just died on me yesterday. At first I thought it was battery problems but in the end it was just the camera. It always had a "heat temperature" problem which according to the manual was normal, however it became way too hot to the touch at times and I knew that probably something was wrong.

As I normally do, I have scheduled posts through the 25th of this month. I will hopefully by then have another camera. If not, I will soon thereafter. I'm sad because I loved this guy but I cannot complain because it gave me four months and over 2,000 photos.

What is funny is that yesterday, the same day 'Oly" died, I received a prolific blogger award from Chuck over at Secondary Roads. We were emailing back and forth about how this camera goes everywhere with me etc... and how OCD I am for posting everyday. Thank you Chuck, the award came at the right time.

So, I can hopefully resume my posting after the last scheduled one on the 25th. I will still continue to visit all of you and participate in the memes as well.

Thanks everyone.

Sorry to hear about Oly. Getting hot to the touch sounds very bad, is this a common problem with that model of Olympus? Hope you get it resolved soon.

Congrats on your award.

Your friends are sure to agree that you earned that award by being here to update this blog and charm us with images and words. Alas poor Oly . . . He was there for you until he was no more. RIP Oly.

oh no, poor Oly. I hope you don't suffer from withdrawal symptoms :) Is there any kind of warranty on the camera? seems to me it should last longer than that no matter how many pictures you took with it.

My Oly point and shoot gets hot quite fast too. After thousands of photos, it too is showing signs of fatigue. I'm sorry about your Oly. What model is it? I hope you get a replacement from Olympus. I think they should warranty you for at least 1 year. 4 months is too shot a life span.

Sorry to hear about Oly. But at least he has given you over 2,000 photos.
Oh My! 4 months is way to soon for Oly to die. If Olympus doesn't replace it I would never buy another camera from them.

Until you get another camera I'm glad you have back-up posts. I really enjoy your pictures.

Congratulations on your award. You deserve it!

My goodness, I would cry if that was my camera. Four months? Not long enough for me. It's a good thing you have taken so many photos with it to last for another two weeks. :-)
It's "good" to hear it's under warranty at least. It doesn't help though, with that awful feeling of being without.

Thanks to all. I'm over the grieving process and just bought a new one. It should be delivered in about a week or so, if not sooner.
